Accounting Pro Tools LLC (maker of RightTool) tracks the following information as metadata:

  • Individual logged in user (based on Intuit ID) for the purposes of distinguishing
    RightTool
    subscription (FREE vs. PRO)

  • Company ID number (as session identifier, we do not read the Company Name from QBO)

  • Timestamp for every page/tab opened (we capture URL, but not accounting data)

  • Ad impressions (FREE version only) and click throughs

In Early 2023, we will give PRO users the ability to opt-out of this feature.
 However, this
feature will be required if PRO users want to access this data for their own internal activity
and time
tracking purposes! (One of many future plans)

We track this data for multiple reasons such as quality control, usage, and ad impression statistics.
We do
NOT sell this data to any 3rd parties. We do not read and/or track any
accounting/banking data
from your QBO files.

PRIVACY POLICY

Accounting Pro Tools LLC respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit accountingprotools.com or use the Chrome Extension, ‘RightTool™ by Account Pro Tools’ including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site or use the our Chrome Extension.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date of this Privacy Policy. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Site, and you waive the right to receive specific notice of each such change or modification.

You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Site after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted. 

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Site includes:

Personal Data

Personally identifiable information, such as your email address, and demographic information, such as your age, gender, hometown, and interests, that you voluntarily give to us when you use our Chrome Extension when you choose to participate in various activities related to the Site and our Chrome Extension, such as online chat and message boards and subscription to newsletters and promotional emails. You are under no obligation to provide us with personal information of any kind, however your refusal to do so may prevent you from using certain features of the Site and our Chrome Extension.

Derivative Data

Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site.

 

Payment Terms and Conditions

  • Subscriptions

    1.1. A Subscription is required to access RightTool Pro Features. A RightTool Pro Subscription is not required to use RightTool. Your RightTool Pro Subscription will continue and automatically renew until terminated. To use the RightTool Pro services you must have Internet access and provide us with one or more Payment Methods. “Payment Method” means a current, valid, accepted method of payment, as may be updated from time to time and which may include payment through your account with a third party. You must cancel your subscription before it renews in order to avoid billing of subscription fees for the next billing cycle to your Payment Method (see “Cancellation” below).

    1.2. We may offer a number of subscriptions plans, including subscriptions offered by third parties in conjunction with the provision of their own products and services. We are not responsible for the products and services provided by such third parties. Some subscription plans may have differing conditions and limitations, which will be disclosed at your sign-up or in other communications made available to you.

  • Promotional Offers. We may from time to time offer special promotional offers, plans or subscriptions (“Offers”). Offer eligibility is determined by Accounting Pro Tools at its sole discretion and we reserve the right to revoke an Offer and put your account on hold in the event that we determine you are not eligible. The eligibility requirements and other limitations and conditions will be disclosed when you sign-up for the Offer or in other communications made available to you.

  • Billing and Cancellation

    3.1. Billing Cycle. The subscription fee for the RightTool Pro service and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the service, such as taxes and possible transaction fees, will be charged to your Payment Method on the specific payment date indicated on the “Account” page. The length of your billing cycle will depend on the type of subscription that you choose when you signed up for the service. Subscription fees are fully earned upon payment. In some cases your payment date may change, for example if your Payment Method has not successfully settled, when you change your subscription plan or if your paid subscription began on a day not contained in a given month. Visit the righttoolpro.com website and click on the “Account” page to see your next payment date. We may authorize your Payment Method in anticipation of subscription or service-related charges through various methods, including authorizing it up to approximately one month of service as soon as you register. 

    3.2. Payment Methods. To use the RightTool Pro service you must provide one or more Payment Methods. You authorize us to charge any Payment Method associated to your account in case your primary Payment Method is declined or no longer available to us for payment of your subscription fee. You remain responsible for any uncollected amounts. If a payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds, or otherwise, and you do not cancel your account, we may suspend your access to the service until we have successfully charged a valid Payment Method. For some Payment Methods, the issuer may charge you certain fees, such as foreign transaction fees or other fees relating to the processing of your Payment Method. Check with your Payment Method service provider for details.

    3.3 Updating your Payment Methods. You can update your Payment Methods by going to the “Account” page. We may also update your Payment Methods using information provided by the payment service providers. Following any update, you authorize us to continue to charge the applicable Payment Method(s).

    3.4. Cancellation. You can cancel your RightTool Pro Subscription at any time. To cancel, go to the “Account” page on our righttoolpro.com website and follow the instructions for cancellation. If you cancel your subscription, your account will automatically close immediately. 

    3.5. Changes to the Price and Subscription Plans. We may change our subscription plans and the price of our service from time to time; however, any price changes or changes to your subscription plans will apply no earlier than 30 days following notice to you. If you do not wish to accept the price change or change to your subscription plan, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

    3.6. No Refunds. Payments are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods. Following any cancellation, however, you will continue to have access to the service through the end of your current billing period. At any time, and for any reason, we may provide a refund, discount, or other consideration to some or all of our members (“credits”). The amount and form of such credits, and the decision to provide them, are at our sole and absolute discretion. The provision of credits in one instance does not entitle you to credits in the future for similar instances, nor does it obligate us to provide credits in the future, under any circumstance.

Financial Data

Financial information, such as data related to your payment method (e.g. valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect when you purchase, order, return, exchange, or request information about our services from the Site We store only very limited, if any, financial information that we collect. Otherwise, all financial information is stored by our payment processor, Stripe and you are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Site or our Chrome Extension to:

  • Administer sweepstakes, promotions, and contests.
  • Assist law enforcement and respond to subpoena.
  • Compile anonymous statistical data and analysis for use internally or with third parties.
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Deliver targeted advertising, coupons, newsletters, and other information regarding promotions, the Site and our Chrome Extension to you.
  • Email you regarding your account or order.
  • Enable user-to-user communications.
  • Fulfill and manage purchases, orders, payments, and other transactions related to the Site and our Chrome Extension.

We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other sites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the Site and our Chrome Extension.

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and our Chrome Extension include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy./Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and our Chrome Extension include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. If you set the DNT signal on your browser, we will respond to such DNT browser signals.

CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below.

If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with the Site and our Chrome Extension, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Site and our Chrome Extension. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Site and our Chrome Extension, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems.
